My wife, Michelle and I became members after we were referred by our GP, in the last week of January 2018. It has been the best decision we made. So far to date I have lost just over 3½st! And it's only taken 6 months. I initially set a goal of losing just over 3st from my starting weight of 23st 5lb by the end of the year, and I've achieved that already! So I've had to set myself a further target of getting to 17st.
Shrinking out of my clothes!
I've not been at the weight I am now since my late teens, which is an amazing achievement in such a short time. Changing what we eat and the way we cook has made such a massive impact on both of our lives, not just the weight loss, but in our general wellbeing and self confidence. Being able to fit into much smaller clothing and wear styles that I'd never thought I'd be able to wear has now become possible and clothes shopping for me is a much more pleasurable experience. The only down side is the cost of constantly having to alter my wardrobe as I gradually shrink out of my clothes!
Life changing journey
My wife and I have continued to be WW Members after our healthcare period expired, as we are so determined to lose as much as we can. I volunteer at our Wellness Workshop and love every second of it! The whole journey has been absolutely life changing for both of us, and long may it continue! We're the happiest we've been for many years. I'd been wanting to lose weight for a long time, but just hadn't had the motivation to. A big part of why we were so determined to lose the weight is to help us start a family.
Staying on track
I absolutely love WW and the freedom it gives you to spend your SmartPoints® however you want. And that there is so much choice and variety of foods that you can enjoy guilt free and still stay on plan. Even as a chef it's helped me think about what I cook and how I cook it to be much more healthy. It's been a bit of a re-education for me.
We feel so much more healthy. We've both been so more active since joining doing lots of walking. My wife even took part in the Cancer Research 10k Race for life and I walked the course with her, which neither of us would have been able to do before we joined. And she wants to do it again next year, and I said if you do it, I'll sign up for the great South Run, which will be an amazing personal achievement for me.
