At 16, I underwent surgery to correct an underbite, which meant that for six weeks afterwards, my jaw was held in place with orthodontic elastics and I wasn’t able to chew as easily. When I got the all clear to eat normally again, I gained 4st within a year!
When I was younger, I’d participated in athletics club at school, throwing hammer for the county. But at nearly 20, I was frustrated by how much my body had changed, and recognised I needed to take control of my health. So, I joined WW. With the support of my WW Coach Lisa, I lost over 3st and joined a gym.
My secret is to enjoy fitness, and not take it too seriously. As well as using the treadmill, me and my best friend Jo do the same fitness classes, and visit the gym together when we meet up. We even wear our Fitbits on nights out!
Now, I work as a science teacher in Nottingham, and continue to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle. I decided to start documenting my healthy habits on my Instagram account, and now have more than 53,000 followers! I regularly post food, fashion and fitness ideas. I hope to inspire others, but equally, I get motivation from people’s reactions to what I post, as well as their advice and encouragement.
