I was overweight as a child

and avoided exercise, so I never imagined I’d enjoy running. I’d conveniently ‘forget’ my PE kit during school, to get out of playing sports or cross-country runs, and always preferred sweet treats to healthy meals. By the time I was 23, I was wearing a size 18-20 and knew I had to do something about my health.

WW worked for mum

so I joined my local WW Workshop, started eating more sensibly and cut down my portion sizes. Then my dad Jez inspired me to get into exercise – I’d seen him complete a park run and that made me want to give it a go.

With Dad’s encouragement, I nailed 5k!

He trained with me and soon we progressed to a 5-mile run; now we’re aiming for 10 miles. We run together at least twice a week and I absolutely love it. We’ve developed a passion for it, which has helped both of us get healthy. Now, thanks to Dad, I’m feeling happier and much more confident.
