I loved my job as a baker and trained chef, but having a weakness for sweet treats made it difficult. I baked batches of 50 doughnuts at a time, and often ate six or seven in a day. Whenever I tried to lose weight, the temptation was impossible to resist.
But when I started feeling lethargic and unfit, I joined WW. Work was overwhelming at times, but I decided to give up the treats cold turkey – if I ate even half a doughnut, I knew I’d end up having loads. Instead, I snacked on melon slices and soon started experimenting with WW recipes.
I got to goal in August 2017, having lost more than 6st in a year.
I’ve learned how to enjoy treats more healthily, and never feel deprived. In fact, I’ve developed plenty of healthier baking recipes that use stewed fruit in place of sugar, and I can’t wait to try out more ideas. I feel so proud to have lost the weight, and I know if I can do it, anyone can!
