Soft white bread roll
2 medium, farmhouse style
2 clove(s), crushed
400 g, plum, drained and roughly chopped
1 small, red, finely chopped
2 leaf/leaves, finely chopped
Sardines in tomato sauce
240 g, 2 x 120g cans
1 pinch, and freshly ground black pepper
- Place the plum tomatoes, red onion, garlic, basil, olive oil in a large bowl, mix thoroughly and season with salt and pepper.
- Cut the rolls in half and place in a hot oven at Gas Mark 7/220°C/425°F for 2 minutes.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and spoon the mixture over the top of each roll.
- Place the sardine fillets onto each roll and place back in the oven for about 4 further minutes. Serve warm.
