Weight Watchers Official Eating Officer

16.05.17: I said YES to Weight Watchers and got to goal!


Hi everyone,

I’ve got some VERY exciting news to share with you all – I GOT TO GOAL and I’m now a Weight Watchers Gold Member! Yippeeeee!!! That means my total loss following the Weight Watchers SmartPoints plan since January 2016 is 57.5lbs and I’ve gone from a size 20 to a size 12! And trust me, I feel so much better for it!

I can’t quite believe I’m writing this and that it’s actually happened, but it really has! With about 10lbs to lose after the new year following my Official Eating Officer duties, I set myself a realistic target to try and get to goal in April – and I’m so proud to say I’ve done it *cue virtual popping of skinny prosecco*!

I’d like to tell you that the journey was a walk in the park, but sometimes it’s not that simple. Life gets in the way at times, and what I love most is that Weight Watchers knows this and makes it as easy as possible for you not to fall off the wagon after a bad day/week/month/year (anyone else singing the Friends theme tune right now?!

Take my birthday last month for example - it fell over the Easter weekend so there were lots of treats, cakes, chocolate eggs, and, to be honest, it turned into a week full of temptation. Luckily, I managed to stay sensible but still enjoy myself – I ate out 4 times and tracked using the Weight Watchers app, which might I add has a 5* rating because it’s so awesome, and the eating out guide on the go (nothing stops me now). I had a cocktail and pizza party with the girls on my birthday and still managed to lose weight! It’s all about the balance! It’s not every day it’s your birthday, so you just have to enjoy every single minute and say yes to those things that make you happy!

One of the most valuable tools Weight Watchers has given me has to be becoming the first Official Eating Officer.  I’ve LOVED my time as Official Eating Officer! I think eating out is such a huge part of my life and so important for many others who are following Weight Watchers. It’s great to highlight that eating out is definitely not off limits with Weight Watchers and adopting a sensible approach to eating out means you can have anything you like without the guilt! Say yes to that pizza and say yes to that glass of wine in the bath on a Friday night after a hard day’s work, you deserve it!

Having the privilege of being the Official Eating Officer has actually changed my life. I know it’s a bit of a cliché thing to say, but since the announcement, I’ve gained a new audience of followers on social media, who have given me the added motivation to reach my goal weight. It’s so nice to know that my experiences are helping other members and I’ll continue to do that throughout my maintenance journey.

On the note of support, I couldn’t have got to goal without the help and friendship of my Coach, Sharon, my meeting peers and my virtual followers! I can’t stress enough how much positivity there is in the Weight Watchers Connect online community and on social media. Everyone is there to cheer you on, pick you up after a bad day and even share a recipe or two!  So a big thank you, it means a lot!


Weight Watchers really has changed my life. I’m a much happier version of myself, with bags of confidence and a new fierce wardrobe to match! I feel like I can take on the world right now! I’ve learned to love exercise, I’ve put on my little chef hat and learned to cook wholesome, healthy recipes and I’ve also learned the best angles to take Instagram worthy food snaps ha ha)! In all seriousness, I’ve lost weight but I’ve gained a whole new lease of life and if I can do it, I know you can do it too! What’s stopping you? We’re only in competition with ourselves, nobody else.


If you’re sitting reading this, thinking ‘I’d like to do that’, say YES! Make that first step and don’t be afraid to take the plunge and join your local Weight Watchers meeting. The plan is so liveable and the digital tools including expert Coach support 24/7available to you are second to none. I use the app everywhere I go – from scanning my food in the supermarket to creating recipes for friends and family at home! There is nothing off limits – you can have a tipple with lunch, you can have a night out with friends and you can have your weekend takeaway – following Weight Watchers doesn’t restrict your life, it enhances it, and I’m so pleased I said yes.
