As a nurse and busy mum, online member Aimee fitted the plan into her lifestyle
As a nurse, I know how unhealthy it is to be overweight. But after a stressful year on top of an already busy schedule, comfort eating helped my weight creep up almost without my noticing. I went from a healthy weight to being barely able to squeeze into my favourite outfit while getting ready for a night out – so I decided to do something about it there and then. I felt awful and looked even worse, so that night I logged onto Weight Watchers Online.
Cooking with a twist
Working as an intensive care nurse means I usually work 12-hour shifts, and I also have a busy life at home with my two-year-old son, so it doesn’t leave a lot of time for meetings. That’s why I joined Weight Watchers Online – it just fits in my life, and the tools are fantastic and easy to use. Recipe Builder in particular helped rediscover my love of cooking, and as I was following the ProPoints plan, I relearned a lot about portion control, too. I started making all my favourite foods, like curry, but with a healthy twist so it would fit with my new eating plan. With planning, I even managed to save enough ProPoints values during the week to have the occasional glass of wine in the evening after a particularly long shift. The weight came off slowly and steadily, and I knew I was on the right track to getting healthy.
A plan for life
The best thing about losing the weight? I now know how to stay at this weight. For the first time ever, I can buy clothes and know they’ll fit me for years to come – I love my new size and the new me. I recommend the plan to everyone I know who wants to lose a few pounds. I can’t help it! I’m a fan for life.
