How to make meals in a flash

No time for cooking or meal prep? These quick meal hacks will help you stay on track.

Having your own collection of speedy meal ideas to turn to when you’re short on time will not only help you stay on track, but it will also take away all the decision making and planning that’s needed when you have that thought of: ‘What am I going to eat?!’

Set yourself up to become quick-meal master by using one of these four quick meal hacks, below.

4 speedy meal hacks

1. Stock your cupboards

Keep a stock of ready-to-go ingredients so you can throw together the main components of a meal whenever you need to. Think tinned beans, frozen fish, or prepared veggies, plus herbs, spices, sauces, and oils that will bring it all together.

2. Batch cook

Make batch cooking a weekly habit by prepping meals, or components of them, at the same time each week. That way, you’ll have meals to turn to in an instant.

3. Make extra

If you’d rather cook across the week, make extra so you have leftovers the next day.

4. Invest in useful gadgets

Use time-saving kitchen kit such as blenders and food processors for easy prep. And don’t forget to call on microwave bacon, rice and omelette cookers, available in meetings or online at the WW Shop.

The more you practise, the more likely you’ll build a repertoire of quick meals.
