It's National Pizza Day (read: best day ever) on 9th February. In recognition of a whole day dedicated to pizza, we've teamed up with Pizza Hut Restaurants and created a SmartPoints guide to their mouth-watering menu.
Pizza is absolutely on the menu for WW members - you can eat whatever you like, as long as you stick to your daily SmartPoints Budget. Our flexible, customised weight loss plans are designed for real life, which means you can eat what you love, eat out at your favourite restaurants and still lose weight.
Because quite frankly, we’re not interested in any weight loss plan where you can’t eat pizza.
Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain, best known for their Deep Pan pizza, extensive salad bar and famous Ice Cream Factory. First established in the UK over 40 years ago, it's a pizza lover's paradise, and today the chain offers even more choice with Low Cal Flatbreads, Chicken Melts and dedicated vegan and gluten-free menus.
With options that fit into your daily Budget - and some you may need to use your weeklies and rollovers for - there's plenty to choose from as a WW member. We've definitely got our eye on their new flatbreads...
Without further ado, it's time to tuck into the Pizza Hut Restaurants menu!
Please note: this article refers to menu items available in Pizza Hut Restaurants, rather than the delivery menu where products and SmartPoints values may differ.
We'll get to starters in just a minute, but first, let's talk flatbreads.
Pizza Hut Restaurant's amazing range of flatbreads are made using their thinnest base ever, then loaded with tasty toppings. And the best news? They all clock in at under 550 calories per flatbread. That's between 11 and 16 SmartPoints, which fits into your daily Budget whichever customised myWW™ plan you're on. Can we book a table, please?
So, if you need a pizza fix but want something low in SmartPoints (SP), the pizza gods have answered your prayers. These flatbreads are a perfect example of how you can eat out at your favourite restaurants and still lose weight. Only one question remains...which one will be your go-to?
- Virtuous Veg - 11SP on all plans (Green, Blue and Purple)
- Chicken Delight - 12SP on Green, and 11SP on Blue and Purple
- Tuna & Sweetcorn - 14SP on Green, and 13SP on Blue and Purple
- Ham & Garlic Mushroom - 14SP on all plans
- BBQ Steak 'N' Chicken - 16SP on all plans
Get your taste buds tingling with a tasty starter to whet your appetite.
The BBQ chicken wings (which are gluten-free) are 10SP on the Green, Blue and Purple plans.
Or, keep it classic with the garlic bread, which is 17SP across all three plans. With mozzarella cheese it's an additional 7SP, bringing the total up to 24SP. Why not share with a friend for all the taste but only half the SmartPoints?
The Pizza Hut menu is also brilliant at catering for vegans, with plenty of options for starters, mains and desserts. If baked rolls filled with sweet chilli, BBQ jackfruit and vegan cheese sounds like a winner, order yourself the new Jack ‘N’ Roll for 12SP on Green, Blue and Purple.
Plus, when you order any main you can fill up at Pizza Hut's famous salad bar for free! Most items will be 0SP on all plans (with the exception of sweetcorn if you're on Green), but you'll need to track things like sauces, coleslaw, bacon pieces and potato salad. It's time to get down to business with the main attraction - pizza!
- 4SP per slice on all three plans: Hawaiian individual thin crust (11"), Veggie individual thin crust (11") and the Vegan Veggie individual thin crust (11")
- 5SP per slice on all three plans: Margherita individual pan crust (9")
- 6SP per slice on all three plans: Meat Feast individual pan crust (9”)
Gluten-free? The gluten-free classic margherita individual pan crust (9”) is 5SP per slice on all three plans. Most pizzas can be made on a gluten-free base, but remember to check the SmartPoints values on the app as they'll vary depending on your choice of pizza.
In the mood for sharing? Give one of these pizzas a try:
- 8SP per slice on all three plans: Hawaiian sharing pan crust (13")
- 9SP per slice on all three plans: Veggie Pepperphoni sharing stuffed crust (14")
- 10SP per slice on all three plans: Meat feast sharing stuff crust (14")
If pizza isn't pushing your buttons, Pizza Hut have some delicious pasta dishes for you to choose from, including the Lasagne and Classic Mac 'n' Cheese which are 28SP on all three plans.
Or, maybe you're in the mood for something completely different! Try the BBQ Americano chicken melt for 10SP across all three plans (with no sides). Add oven baked fries for an additional 11SP or corn on the cob (three wheels) for an additional 8SP.
If you're running a little low on SmartPoints, the naked chicken melt at 4SP on all plans (with no sides) is a great option.
Fancy something cheeky on the side? Tuck into these tasty options (SP values are the same for all three plans):
- Southern fried nuggets: 7SP
- Garlic bread: 9SP
- Hot dog bites: 12SP
- Cheesy 'bite bites': 14SP
Got room for dessert? The chocolate chip cookie dough is 30SP and the salted caramel cookie dough is 25SP on all three plans.
Get a proper chocolate fix with the hot chocolate brownie for 29SP on all plans. Share with a friend or tap into your weeklies if you need to - that's what they're there for, after all.
If you'd prefer to finish your meal with something lighter, the Ice Cream Factory ice cream is only 7SP per 100g (without toppings and sauces) across all three plans. Now that’s definitely something to smile about!
