Think about something you’ve been putting off. This could be joining the gym, trying your hand at that healthy recipe, or starting a journal. There’s no time like the present, so stop making excuses and do it – it could be the push you need to make other healthy choices in your life.

Pinpoint what’s been stopping you.Think about what’s holding you back from succeeding. Then, write a proactive list of how to tackle the problem, and use it as a plan of action. For example, if your problem is that you often get home late in the evenings and resort to takeaways or unhealthy convenience foods, your solution could be to batch cook a few meals every Sunday to enjoy throughout the week.

Reflect on how far you’ve come. What have been your greatest achievements so far? What were your biggest challenges? Make a note of these – you’ll realise that you are capable of success, and be able to identify how you overcame obstacles before (which could help you face them in the future).

Love the journey. Don’t feel disheartened if you’re not at goal yet, or haven’t reached your milestones. Instead, learn to enjoy the process of getting there – by enjoying the journey, you’re likely to get more out of it. Whether it’s getting stuck into cooking or finding a new activity, those skills will help you stay healthy for good.Visualise the best version of yourself. Not just how that version of you looks, but how you feel, where you are, and what you’re doing. Visualising how you want to be could help you refocus your goals on what you really want, so you can work towards what’s most important to you.
