Amanda's Blue Food Plan Review | WW NZ
Amanda has changed her kids’ future with myWW
Amanda’s ‘why’
“I was tired of starving myself to try and lose weight. That approach wasn’t good for me and it wasn’t good for my children – and it wasn’t working. When I saw the results other people were achieving on WW without banning any foods or depriving themselves, I wanted in on that!”
Q & A with Amanda
What do you love about myWW?
There are so many things, but what I love most is that it’s all about eating healthy, nutritious food and doesn’t ask you to cut out or ban anything. It’s also great that you get to customise how you follow the program depending on whether Green, Blue or Purple suits you and your lifestyle best.
You’re on Blue – why is it your perfect fit?
It’s just the right balance for me, with a moderate SmartPoints® Budget and a generous list of ZeroPoint™ foods. On Blue, ZeroPoint foods include lean proteins, vegetables and fruit – being able to base my meals around those without spending any of my SmartPoints works really well for me.
*Lost weight on prior program and myWW. Weight loss may vary.
How much has your relationship with food improved?
So much! Now I look at food as being a source of nourishment and know that eating a balanced diet, without eliminating entire food groups, is vital for both physical and mental health. Before joining WW, I’d convinced myself that I couldn’t lose weight without quitting carbohydrates, but I’d fail every time I tried to do it because I was so hungry all the time. As a WW member, I’ve learned that approach is not only unsustainable, it’s unhealthy – and unnecessary. Now I have a much healthier relationship with food and instead of being consumed by thinking about what not to eat, I focus on what to eat to nourish and fuel my body best. It feels so good knowing I’m passing that healthy approach to food onto my three young children.
Do you eat differently now?
Definitely. I’m no longer afraid to eat wholegrain bread and pasta and every day I get up and have oats for breakfast. In fact, my favourite WW recipe, the 90 second mug muffin, contains oats. As someone who went out of my way to avoid carbohydrates that alone has been life changing. I know I can – and should – eat nutritious sources of carbohydrates and still lose weight.
3 reasons WW works for Amanda
“Because I’m no longer in that mindset of cutting out entire food groups, whatever I eat, my family eats. Being able to enjoy meals as a family is not only healthy, it makes things simple.”
“I wanted a plan that wasn’t restrictive and was free of ‘guilt’. I love that I can eat dessert on myWW and never feel like I’ve ‘slipped up’. It’s designed so you can enjoy food, not avoid food.”
“The WW Connect community, and being able to access it 24/7 through the app, is so fantastic. I love connecting with other members and being inspired by what they share.”
