Food management made easy

WW tools to set you up for success

Food is often the first thing we think of when it comes to weight loss, but it’s just one element of a much bigger picture. WW takes a holistic approach to weight loss, which looks at four tenets: food, activity, mindset, and sleep. These four pillars are interlinked, and all play a role in how you’re feeling and how you’re progressing toward your health and fitness goals.

When it comes to food, it might feel overwhelming at first to think about tracking everything you eat and planning your meals. But the tools in the WW app make all of that totally doable – and even fun!

And remember, with WW, no food is off limits. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a breath. WW is not a diet, and it’s not restrictive. The program is built on the latest nutritional and behaviour change research to help you eat what you love while building healthy habits.

We make more than 200 decisions about what to eat each day, but WW’s science-backed SmartPoints® system takes the guesswork out of that, making it easier to decide what to eat, cook or order. With three different plans, Green, Blue, and Purple, you can find a plan that suits your lifestyle, your goals, and your tastes. And you get extra flexibility with a customized list of ZeroPoint™ foods based on your plan – which can include things like chicken, potatoes, and whole-grain pasta – that you don’t have to track or measure.

Once you’ve got your list of ZeroPoint foods and your plan all set, you can start meal planning – which is truly a time saver and can help take the guesswork out of tracking. Find some meal planning tips here.

The new myWW+ app has built-in meal planning tools as well as a food tracker, barcode scanner, restaurant finder, and more than 5,600 recipes for cooking inspiration.

With the new “What’s in your fridge” feature, you can plug in the ingredients you have on hand and get instant suggestions for dishes you can make right away.

The meal planner tool is easy to use, letting you map out your meals for the week ahead using WW recipes or the app’s pre-made meal plans. And if you’re hunting for inspiration, the personalized recipe carousel will give you suggestions based on what you like to eat and how many SmartPoints you have left in the bank.

And tracking has never been easier. Gone are the days when you had to track your SmartPoints by hand. Now you can just plug everything into the app with myWW+’s enhanced food search function. Or, you can just tell Siri to do it for you. The updated app has a hands-free option so you can track quickly and get on with your day. And the barcode scanner is a great way to get ahead of the game by tracking food products while you’re shopping for them. Just open the app and scan the barcodes on your groceries.

And don’t forget to hydrate! Hydration is just as important as nutrition, and you can easily keep track of your H2O intake with the WW app’s water tracker, using preset amounts or filling in your own measurements.
