On a chilly day in November 2019 a line up of more than 500 people circled the Brantford Convention Centre.

No, it wasn’t a special appearance by hometown hero Wayne Gretzky. It was a crowd gathered in the shared pursuit of wellness.

The event, myWWTM Community Kickstart, hosted by WW Canada was an afternoon dedicated to reinvigorating the community’s dedication to wellness.

Coinciding with the launch of the new myWW program, our most customized program ever, WW wanted to share this new experience directly with the people in Brantford to give them a helping hand in kickstarting their health and weight loss journey.

Food, fitness, and fun

Award-winning author Greta Podleski gave away signed copies of her bestselling cookbook Yum & Yummer and demoed fan-favourite recipes. Local Brantford fitness centre Movati pumped up the energy by getting the whole crowd moving with their Drum Class. Freshii kept the crowd nourished with fresh juices and energii bites, and our partners at truLOCAL provided the crowd with exclusive discounts. The WW Gays, Nick and Jean-Luc were in attendance to share their story and take many selfies with their fans!

There was face-painting for the kiddos, trivia games, and free massages! WW Coaches and Guides were on-hand to answer any and all questions about how myWW works. The initiative also included a financial donation to the Brantford Food Bank, and a wellness challenge among key members of Brantford City Council.

90-day challenge

WW members walked away from the event with everything they needed to set them up for success, including exclusive classes at Movati Brantford to get them moving and a plethora of discounts and deals with our partners in healthy eating.

Brantford took up the challenge and stuck with it, even as the work changed drastically this March.

When physical studios were closed in response to social distancing measures, WW responded by launching Virtual Workshops, where members can still have the accountability of an in-person workshop, but at a distance.
