Myth 1. You have to eat pre-packaged or frozen meals
Nope – WW is all about liveability and that means eating home-cooked foods, takeaway, leftovers, fancy dinners, and snacks on the go. No foods are off-limits! Plus we have more than 6,000 WW recipes, to inspire you with the SmartPoints already worked out for you.
Myth 2. You have to go to meetings
Maybe you’ve been hesitant about joining WW because the idea of sitting in a room full of strangers and talking about a vulnerable part of your life is scary. We totally get that.
It's a new age! A WW membership can be enjoyed completely digitally, via the WW app, where you can find everything you need to live a healthy life – from recipes to barcode scanners to 24/7 online coaches. Members also get access to our member-only social community called Connect which means you can link up with likeminded people – new mums, foodies and men. Feel like you need some more support? Workshops are a great, safe place too! The Workshop membership provides unparalleled support from fellow members and your coach – so they know your challenges. You can even attend our Virtual Workshops where you can participate in the Workshop experience -from anywhere and in the comfort of your own home!
Myth 3. WW hasn't changed
We have an app – an AWARD WINNING app! You can work the program in the palm of your hand. In addition to food, fitness, sleep and water tracking, the WW app includes everything from recipes and 24/7 WW coach support, to a barcode scanner, meditations, and audio and video workouts, providing support across the pillars of food, activity, sleep and mindset. Our app has all the support you need.
Myth 4. You need to step on a scale in front of strangers
If you are a Workshop member, your private wellness check-in is completely confidential. When you weigh in only you and your WW coach will see your weight (unless you feel like sharing!) so rest assured that you will feel comfortable, at ease, and have your privacy respected. And if you participate in Virtual Workshops you can do your wellness check-in right on your app.
Myth 5. WW is your grandma’s diet
WW is not your grandma’s weight loss plan – although she is invited too! WW members are diverse in age, culture, and gender – and did you know WW is worldwide! From Australia to Sweden, WW is Wellness that Works - for the world!
Myth 6. You need to track everything you eat
Nope. There’s an extensive list of ZeroPoint™ foods on every plan, containing options that form the foundations for healthy eating patterns, which don’t need to be measured or tracked. Depending on which plan you follow, these foods range from fruit and vegetables through to seafood, skinless chicken breast and even wholemeal pasta. These foods form the foundation of a healthy eating pattern, and with a lower risk of overeating are healthy go-to options that make living a healthy lifestyle simple and more enjoyable.

Myth 7. The WW program only focuses on food
False. The WW program is a holistic program that focuses on helping you build long lasting healthy habits across food, activity, sleep and mindset. In WW Workshops we discuss different topics related to your health and wellness, including learning to shift your mindset, building a habit loop and creating an activity routine. In the WW app we have video workouts from our partner Obé as well as meditations from Breethe. There are also more resources available on the WW Website – everything from workout plans to articles on managing your stress levels and snack ideas.
