How has the WeightWatchers program helped you?
The WeightWatchers program puts me in the driver's seat when it comes to the choices I make. That feeling of being in control is very empowering.
The Points system helps me to understand a healthier way of eating while not missing out on the foods that I love, so I don’t feel deprived.
The program has also encouraged me to take better care of myself in all areas of my wellness, by focusing on keeping a positive mindset, looking after my body through activity, and monitoring my sleep so that I recharge my body battery properly.
Understanding how they all connect has improved my overall health and wellbeing enormously. The support that surrounds you within the WW Community is like nothing else. It’s always encouraging, inspiring and motivating me to live a healthy lifestyle.
How do you make the most of ZeroPoint foods?
I like to use ZeroPoint foods as a base for all my meals and then build around it with other choices, because I know they’re great filling foods.
At main meals I try to make at least half of my plate a rainbow of non-starchy vegetables and I include a lean protein choice in there too. Sometimes it’s a ZeroPoint protein choice, other times it’s not and that’s absolutely ok too.
Snacking on ZeroPoint foods when I feel hunger kicking in means I am not using up my Points budget and that helps on some days. Basically zeros are my heroes! They’re there whenever I need them.
How does WW help you lead a flexible lifestyle?
Because nothing is off limits, I don’t ever feel like I’m ‘dieting’ and that is huge! I’m in control of how I use the WeightWatchers program and that means I don’t miss out on living my life and enjoying those special moments.
If one day or one meal sees me use up my Points budget or go over it, that’s totally ok, because it’s what I do next that makes the difference. It’s always my choice to bring things back in line again and keep moving forward.
WW is right there encouraging me to work towards making progress, not aiming to be perfect at everything. I need that flexibility in order to keep the weight off for the long term.
What do you love about being a WW Coach?
Being able to give back the support and encouragement that was given to me when I was a member is just amazing. It’s an honour to share in a member’s journey and be their cheer squad.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see them living a healthier life. The connections I have formed with Members over the years is something I cherish greatly.
