Lucy has over 35 years experience in the food publishing industry and held positions as Food Editor of Good Health and Assistant Food Editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly Cookbooks. Lucy started her career in food publishing in The Australian Women’s Weekly test kitchen where she learnt everything there is to know about recipe development, recipe writing and preparation of food for photography.
Lucy has always had a particular passion for healthy cooking, eating and food so she has loved her 10 years as Senior Food Editor at WW producing the food pages for the WW magazine and WW cookbooks.
Lucy gained some weight after having 4 children and has been a Lifetime member of WW since 2002 and remained at goal ever since so she was particularly thrilled to join the company in 2006. Lucy loves eating out and trying new restaurants, and she enjoys entertaining and cooking at home for her family and friends, along with travelling as often as she can to experience the authentic cuisines and cultures of other countries.
Lucy has an Arts degree in Fine Arts and Archaeology from Sydney University, and a Certificate of Home Economics from East Sydney Technical College. While at university Lucy managed and cooked at a café and also worked as a caterer where she realised her true passion lay in food, so she went on to study food at Technical College with the vision to work as a Food Editor one day. She realised her dream career and has loved every minute of it.
