Segmenting an Orange

Step 1
Starting with a washed orange, slice off the bottom and top ends, creating flat surfaces.

Step 2
Steady the orange on one of its flat ends and slice away the skin and pith in lengthwise strips.

Step 3
Holding the skinned orange over a bowl to catch the juices, slice into the orange segments, parallel to the membranes, creating segments called supremes.
