An easy trick in the kitchen is to start with an already-made spice blend, like chili powder, then add other spices to make it uniquely your own. Here, we’ve added warm allspice and cayenne to chili powder to give these nuts more zing.

Ingredients

Cooking spray

8 spray(s)

Chili powder

1 tsp

Ground allspice

¼ tsp

Kosher salt

¼ tsp

Cayenne pepper

tsp

Almonds

¼ cup(s), whole, whole

Raw cashews

¼ cup(s)

Shelled pistachio nuts

¼ cup(s)

Walnuts

¼ cup(s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk the chili powder, allspice, salt, and cayenne. In a medium bowl, spray the nuts with cooking spray and toss to coat. Sprinkle the spice blend over the nuts and stir to coat. Spray the nuts with cooking spray and spread into an even layer on the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the nuts, stirring once halfway through baking, until toasted, 18 to 20 minutes. Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
