I use 30 oz bag of hashbrowns. I haven't used the immersion blender but I bet that would make it very creamy. Although I find this soup to be creamy enough w/o the blender. I've made this several times and this is a great, "go to" recipe. Affordable, simple and consistent. It is delicious every time! I didn't expect it to turn out so well, as I was skeptical about the frozen hashbrowns. But my worries were laid to rest when I tried it. This one is a keeper.
