I just made this soup today, added two garlic cloves and some celery and it still tastes bland to me. I'm thinking of adding more nutmeg, but it needs something to spice it up a bit. I can hardly taste the cauliflower, so I think perhaps I should have reserved some cauliflower to add to the soup after it was pureed. In all fairness, I used vegetable broth and soy milk. For me, it needs more flavor so, I need to tweak it a bit next time.
