I have been on Weight Watchers for over a year now- and in my first few months on the "old" plan, I lost about 20 lbs and was very happy with my success.

Over the Christmas break, I gained about 7 lbs.and have been trying to get it off since I've been back at school.

So far, I am not happy with the new point system. I exercise daily and sometimes don't even use up all my daily points- yet I am not losing any weight. I am very frustrated because I did so well on the old system, and I wish I could switch back.

I feel like I am eating too much because I always have so many points left, even though I am at the minimum daily allowance of 29 points.

Is anyone else having this problem? If so, is there anything you can suggest? :/

You can use the old plan if you have the materials and the points calculator. You won't be able to track on this website and get the correct points values.

There are several members having problems with the new plan. It makes it seem like there is a flaw in this system, but really, there were just as many people with issues following Momentum as well. It just might have been different people.

Are you meeting the good health guidelines everyday? What you eat can make a difference, even if you are staying within your daily points. The PP plan encourages more protein and less refined carbs. Your body burns protein more efficiently than carbs.

It also could be that with your exercise you aren't eating enough. There is a lot of discussion about this on the PointsPlus board. Read some of the threads there to get some ideas. "Free" fruit is getting a bad rap, but it can be overused. You still have to use common sense in the amount of fruit you eat.

I don't know how much you have to lose, but if it applies, you might want to take a look at the Less to Lose board.

I am having exactly the same problem. I lost 18 pounds last year on the old system using the online tracker and then gained five pounds after switching to Points Plus. I hate it!

Like you, I exercise a lot, and I am also at 29 points per day. I often have lots of leftover points at the end of my week. I think the points allowed are just too high, given some of the changes to the points values.

Maybe if the lowest value was 26 points per day it could work, and I've tried to stick to that, but the whole value of WW for me was that IT set the parameters, and I just had to follow the rules, so suggestions like 'use common sense' around fruit just make me frustrated. My common sense doesn't help me lose/maintain my weight. That's why I needed WW in the first place!!

I'm testing Lose It this week to see if it works better. I dislike the fact that it counts calories on a daily rather than weekly basis, but I think it may be more successful. It's also free.

I've heard this from many people and I am one of them. Unfortunately for those of us who started with the new program there is not an "old" option to fall back on. I hope they go back to the old way.

I have been on the new point system for five weeks and I have not lost one pound. I exercise about 5 times per week and I rarely use all of the extra points. I am also hungry all of the time, which was not true on the old point system. I know that I can eat fruit, but that does not satisfy me. On the old system, I would drop several pounds the first week and then about one pound a week after that. I am looking around for other plans, so Weight Watchers is going to lose a loyal customer....

I am cancelling this site since you won't allow me to use the points system that DOES works. For those of us who did so well before, and have told you on here and at meetings how we feel, I for one will not continue. Gonna dig out my old books and do it myself!!

I agree with the old system was better. I lost 22 pounds on the old system. So far I've been on this one for 4 weeks with absolutely no results. I exercise faithfully. I will also be cancelling my subcription online unless they at least give an option to go back to the old plan if thats what worked for you.

I agree with all of you. I lost 20 lbs on the old system. Then when the new system came out I started gaining weight back. I tried extremeley hard to stay on plan but I feel that the new points plus plan is way to restrictive and hard to follow. I gained 14 lbs back since the new plan came out. I have cancelled my subscription, and so have the 5 other people that I was doing the program with.

Has anyone relayed this information back to weight watchers? We pay enough for the service and seems like a pretty easy option to implement. I'm having the same exact problems - lost very easily following the old system, now I can't shed a pound on the new one!

I miss the old point system too. I have gained half of what I lost back and I had kept it all off for over 2 years.

I also suffer from depression and found that I was much less depressed when I was following the old point system. Now, not only am I sad almost all the time, but I'm feeling crappy about myself and my weight gain. This is not a good combination.

I hope that WW eventually gives us the option of using either the old points system online. If not, I am going to look for another program. I feel that WW has just fallen onto the "low-carb" bandwagon.

Points Plus has been an unmitigated disaster for me also. I have not gained back anything like what I lost (100 pounds), but I have gained AND have been hungry ever since - never was during the loss of 100 pounds (16 months) and six months of successful maintenance prior to Points Plus sabotaging me. I wish they had at least the decency to offer both programs.

I went to the doctor yesterday and asked what I could do about my plateau. I explained I started WW on the old plan and had to switch to the new plan. She told me she has a friend that works at a local Weight Watchers and her friend has seen thie happen to alot of people. Part of the plateaus are due to were fruits and vegetables are free and the increased daily target. She advised me to go back on the old plan and exercise more to break through the plateau. I may have lost 3-5 pounds since the new plan started and have been beating myself up because I cannot get through the plateau. I found a website called onemorepound.com. It has the old point system and new point system on it. I am using it along with getting the old system info from a friend. Anything can help with getting this weight off.

This has been so frustrating. I exercise, I try not to overdo it on the fruit, and nothing. I lost a little over a pound 2 weeks ago, last week I gained a pound and this week I lost 0.8 pounds. I've been following the plan faithfully. I had such success with the previous system.
I thought I should go to meetings, but the success stories (i.e. 50 lbs. loss) had to have been on the old plan. I hope they try to tweak this. I wish I could locate my old materials!

I lost 70 pounds on the old system. I kept it off for 3 years but found the weight is starting to creep back up again. I need to get back to my potion size control and focusing on the "points" from the OLD METHOD. This new Points Plus method is… okay… I give it two out of five stars. Whomever was the "brilliant yahoo" (I say this sarcastically) who created the PP mathematical formula and is pushing the issue of not allowing THE CUSTOMER to make the choice if we want to do the old Points method or PP… You just lost my business!!! I'm glad I was given a seven day trial period - I would have kicked myself in the butt if I paid $65 to renew. Good luck on keeping customers. The customer should always come first – we pay your salaries and keep your business running! You have made your wild eyed mathematicians make the decision for everyone. I don’t like being “pushed” into other individual’s beliefs (and that includes mathematical computations) where I’m not allowed a choice. It’s a turn off for me as I’m sure it’s for a lot of other people. Good luck keeping your customers!! Call me if you ever decided to reverse your cranial rectal inversion issue and allow customers to make a choice between the old Points or new PP.

I'm having the same problem that most everyone is discussing. I think the fruit with all those carbs does it for me. I have been eating a lot of fruit and vegies...no weight loss. Too many carbs for me...no weight loss! Going back to the old plan...there are plenty of websites with the old plan, calculator...all you need to use it.
Check it out!

i have been on WW for 3 years and had absolutely no issue with losing weight until the new points plus system started. I have been using since it started but i have lost zero pounds, instead i have gained 15 pounds back, i have followed it strickly like before but nothing and i do not eat tons of carbs, i find it hard to believe that fruit that had points are zero points now. The change from the old system to the new system was pretty upsetting to me, i have heard nothing but negative comments from users on the website as well as many friends of mine. I for one am looking for another option besides WW because its like all the others which is sad really because i thought i finally found something that was great and i did until it was changed, i do however like the recipes that are on here so i havent yet canceled my account but its coming eventually. I say have two programs, the old one for the ones that it works for and the new one for the ones that it works for, everyone is different, you cant say low carb high protein works for all because it obviouosly does not.

I too am having the same problems as many of you here. I lost 47lbs on the old program. Unfortuantely since the rollout of the new program I have not lost A single pound and have in fact gained back 13 and I struggle each week I go to weigh in with the fact that I will be up 1 pound or more. It never fails that I see increased weight gain and no weight loss and I follow the plan faithfully as well as I exercise every single day.

When I go to the meetings and I ask why is this happening they tell me to be sure to eat all 29 points which is hard to do almost on a daily basis for me. Before I cancel, I am going to try and go back to the best of my memory to the old plan by using my books and material as well as a few helpful sites I have become aware of on this discussion board and I will see if that makes a difference.

On the old plan I would lose 1-2 pounds a week and it was easy as long as you it's been almost a year now for this new plan and I have lost NOTHING.. it's frustrating when you know you are doing the right things, paying money to be a member of weightwatchers and still seeing no results...

I hope they make some changes really soon, otherwise I can't continue to pay to gain weight when I can do that completely free and on my own...

I am so glad that I am not the only one. Weight Watchers - you taught me the Tools for Living and I have embraced them. What happened to "Learn from Experience"? You have given those that learned from experience no options. We learned that what we were doing works. Products have switched over to points plus and it is becoming more an more difficult to work the old plan in the new plan environment. Please give us back the options.

I am having the same problem as everyone else. I was on the old system and had a loss every week. I gained weight and decided to go back and try this new system. I was hesitant but my leader said she lost 20 lbs in three months. For 3 months the scale has been a roller coaster and I have been able to maintain what my start weight was despite exercise and strictly following program.
I am using the old system for 4 weeks to see what happens, if it works, I will cancel weight watchers and not return until they give members an option.

Having done the traditional old WW way I lost a ton of weight and felt totally in control of my food. I did have wine and treats but because of that I was able to stay on track with food and eat healthy most of the time - you know, like a normal person. Personally, I have huge issues with food and WW has saved my life and given me the control that I need for sanity. I resent the new plan immensely because the old plan worked and I'm sorry, but who is WW to tell me what I should be leaning toward in terms of what I am eating to lose? Is this not a free country? Further WW, I don't need a 'points plus' program to tell me that an apple is better than a bag of pretzels even if they are the same points (duh), but I want the option on some days to choose that bag of pretzels without feeling like I'm being 'punished' point wise for it. The same goes for alcohol - I almost feel like I am being judged for drinking - my glass of wine that like the bag of pretzels, I will at times opt to have as a treat so that overall I will stay on track with the plan has doubled in points?! Ridiculous. My thing is, don't treat us like children and don't lecture us on what whe should be eating - if I am eating healthfully 75% of the time and use that 25% to eat un-healthfully and not only am a.Still losing, but more importantly b. In control of my life and not binging on thousands of extra calories then I am a success. I am still tracking and will continue to pay the high online fees because it is worth it, but I am sticking to the old plan. It is my sanity, it keeps me healthy, and it is successful. If it ain't broke don't fix it and don't tell me what I 'should' be eating - I already know thanks.

Oh my goodness I've never been so happy to see a thread like this. I lost 68lbs with the "old" system and loved it. then they changed it and I gained back 30lbs!!! at 15lbs back I started to freak out but then thought maybe i was over doing "dieting" all together and took a mental break and just worked out and ate healthy over all. gained NOTHING then decided to try new weight watchers again w a whole new perspective and gained anouther 15lb!!!! i tried againnn 5 weeks ago and lost 1.8lbs then gained 1.3 back then it hasn't budged since!

IM GOING BACK TO THE OLD SYSTEM! STICKING WITH WHAT WORKED!!
