I have been following the inserted directions for activating my ActiveLink device and it is not working.
After several failed attempts, I enrolled the help of my daughter, computer science grad., and she helped me by doing the following:
1. Go to www.getactivelink.com
2. A new pop up window will ask you to Sign in with your weight watchers user name and password.
3. Once info. confirmed, you are then routed back to the ActiveLink website.
3. Plug ActiveLink device into a USB port and then click on the website link that is below the download and install box, if you are Windows user. Mac users have to click on a link that has very small font on the bottom right side of the screen.
4. A new tab is created that is blank. It is downloading, behind the window you have open, there is a pop up window that asks you to save or open the program for ActiveLink.
5. Then the instructions on the ActiveLink website are correct from there.
6. GOOD LUCK!

Thank you for posting this!

Hopefully this will help a lot of frustrated people. I know that the instructions I have been reading have not been as clear as they could be.

What do you think about that device? Would you recommend?

Yes. I am on week 3 along with wife. The device has a different base line, so she begins earning activity points before I do. Pretty surprised - lots of things I expected to be activity earners were not (sailing a keel boat for 3 hours, 1/2 point). Has caused me to re-think my activity levels and is helping me push up how much I do through the day, apart from regular "exercise." Tied it on a brown leather strap and wear it round my neck under my shirt. Actually looks cool. Sadly, activity point for looking cool: zero.

"Sadly, activity point for looking cool: zero"

That made me giggle out loud.

Thank you so much for posting how to activate the activelink. Mine didn't not come with any instructions and I couldn't find and info on the Weight Watchers website. Following your instructions I was able to get the show on the road!!! Thanks again! =o)

Did anyone else get a warning with a big red x that says I could get a virus if I download it?

Thank you I am trying your suggestion. Very frustraited. Directions do not help. Called Phillips and they are no help as well. Still trying to download the software. This is much more involved than the seller leads you to believe. I was told to just plug it in and follow the prompts. That didn't happen. Hope this works. Diana

Responding to MRSKLG - We also got a message from McAfee anti-virus indicating that this download contained viruses, spyware and/or addware

I just bought this device and I am very frustrated. I cannot download or install. I keep getting the security warning. I called WW and Philips and they could not help me. Did I just waste alot of $$$$$?

I was able to download the activelink but have never seen any lights on my device. So far not happy and hoping that I get some response from the Active Link Customer Support. I fear mine was dead in the box and would like a replacement or money back.

RNBEVERLY-

What do you mean by security warning?

You may have to click ok or continue to get past that.

Oh. THAT message.

That's a standard warning letting you know that anytime you download ANYTHING online it could contain viruses so you want to only download from trusted sources.

www.getactivelink.com is a safe site to download from.

LAURIEL555-

Give Philips a call: 1-888-PHILIPS

This is not a way to contact weight watchers or Philips. They don't actively read these boards.

I am on vacation and do not have my computer with the download. Can I plug it into any computer to charge the battery or does it have to have the activelink down load on it.

Good question.

I don't know for sure.

I would think that just being plugged in would charge the battery (like other things that charge using a USB port). I don't know for sure.

Philips would know.

Can you start all over with ActiveLink? Can you redo your Assessment? What happens if you inherit a used ActiveLink? Can you do your own Assessment and start from scratch for yourself and register to your own eTools?

I followed the directions and got as far as the sign in to weight watchers. It keeps rejecting my ID and password, though it works fine on this website. frustrating. Any suggestions?

I downloaded the software but can't get the device to sync. I feel like I've wasted my money. I've turned off all the firewalls, etc

I am also having problems getting my login and password to be accepted. Called Phillips and they're not sure what is happening. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! They said they would have some one call me back in a couple days. Right now, not a happy camper. Anyone have any ideas? HELP!!!

Do you have to be on facebook or twitter to use the active link? I bought it today at my meeting and I am not on facebook or twitter. I used my regular email and password and it does not recognize it. Can someone please help me with this? Thank you Joan Pearson

Got my ActiveLink last week - software downloaded without a hitch and all is working fine. If you plug into a different computer, you do have to download the software again on the computer you're using to get connected. I've had no problems at all.
